Was at my local FFL the other day, in a hurry, and the place was mobbed. Saw a Super Blackhawk with a $450.00 price tag. I just might have to go back and look a little closer. I don't really NEED a 44 mag but if I can get it for that $$ I just might have to 'invest'.

That's a heck of a find depending on the condition. If it weren't such a hassle to purchase handguns in MD I'd buy more often when I see stuff there. I've passed on several nice finds in the years. There is a shop I used to frequent that would get in a lot of estate sale guns. Found a cherry S&W Mod 19 there and purchased. Of course MD law can't take it home same day. They had to ship it to my LGS in PA which is about the same distance from my house as where I bought it.....took forever for them to do it.....I'd been better off with the MD waiting period and picking it up then. My LGS got a chuckle out of it when they saw who sent it....he has a reputation. He even offered to drive it to my LGS the next day if I bought it so I could pick it up. It's a very short drive. There's another shop in Hagerstown with reasonable prices and good used selection....but it's too frustrating to abide by MD rules as a PA resident. Such is life. I stay on my side of the fence now.

My bonus hits tomorrow (last one before retirement). I will be picking up two Ruger revolvers....three possibly, from a couple LGS's. Nice to go in and walk out with them. No hassles about having taken this class or that, and the waiting period.

I don’t bother trying to convince myself I don’t need another and as far as the price goes “buy once, cry once”. I’m at the point where another safe would be handy.

Being retired military at least you didn't have to acquire the HQL which is another MD hurdle.

So true. My FFl also maintains a copy of my 4473 so I don't have to sit and fill that POC out each time I show up. I just review it and sign. Being a designated collector I also can purchase more that one handgun in any 30 day time.

My MD buddy does the same, and he also got the C&R even though he's not a collector by any means.

I too hold a C&R FFL. You just never know when that "special" will appear. The HQL only needs to be completed in order to obtain a carry permit.
