I know it would probably have a fairly small market but does anyone else think a GP100 in .41 Magnum sounds like a good idea? I would go 4.2" Barrel and make the cylinder non-fluted. WIth the larger bore and chambers it would probably weigh about the same as the 4.2" .357 does.

Just day dreaming, any thoughts?

Gary Reeder makes a 5-shot 41mag GP-100. Costs quite a bit. My understanding is there isn't enough beef for a 6-shot.

There are Smiths and Taurus used to make a Tracker 5-shot 41 magnum.

Yes, I think it's a good idea. Have you seen this?

I think it's made on the SRH frame, but I could be wrong. I think there was a thread or two on 10mm conversions, so you're not far off.

Yes!

And, in a 2-inch. Make blued an option too.

The GP would be about perfect to carry in the woods. I have the .41 in a SBH and a Smith as well as the 4in Tracker. The Tracker is great to carry but harder to shoot because of the trigger and grip. The Tracker is almost too light though so I think a 3in GP would be just right. Well, 4in in Arkansas because that is the minimum length for hunting.
I have not had any work done on the Tracker because the Ruger Bisley and Smith 57 shoot so well.

Yes, would be a great idea. Or, if the cylinder isn't quite big enough for six doses of .41 medicine, how about 10mm or even .40 S&W with snowflake clips?

I've never really gotten the point of ".41-sized" revolvers that aren't quite beefy enough to take the .41--and this includes the Python, Smith L-frame, and Colt Trooper III/V/King Cobra. When will someone give us a TRUE .41 gun? (IMHO, if you're going to tote around a .44/.45-sized revolver, it might as well shoot .44 or .45).

And the point of a revolver using ACP ammo is ...... :?: :?:

Just as an oddity?
The desire to make it harder to load?

I really like the 41 caliber and would like to see Ruger bring it back but IMHO the GP frame is to small. I would like to see the 41 in the Alaskan or the 4.2 Redhawk.
