Memories. Some good,, some bad. All were experiences.
That was very enjoyable to watch! I remember every bit of it.....the Evel Knievel Stunt Cycle was the best! building ramps for our bikes! The original SNL cast!...doing "The Bump" on roller skates at Skate Land under disco lights! Lava lamp in my room.....heck I was even in the KISS Army!

you are most likely in the wrong neighborhood.....Halter top wearing chick drinking Boones Farm is the way to go......:love::cool: you most likely in a good place.....for me it was the bed of a pick up truck parked at a bon fire in the middle of the woods or a field.....the 70's were great.
Oh yeah Boones Farm Country Kwencher, Pony Miller’s and Malt Duck… And yes halter tops, tube tops, mini skirts, hip hugger jeans, hot pants and drive in theaters… those were the days.
Of course the cars weren’t bad either, GTO’s, Chevelle’s, Mach I, Firebirds, Camero’s, Nova’s, Torino GT, Fairlane, Dusters, 442’s, GS Buick, Cyclones, Trans Am, rode in all of them with the speedometer in the casing, it’s a wonder any of us are still alive (including the cars).

An interesting period for Fleetwood Mac. They went from the Bob Welch influenced period to the Lindsy Buckingham Stevie Nicks era. Both were exceptional.

A 1965 VW microbus with 3 inch padding on the floor. A 1965 Rambler classic with a folding front bench seat making the entire interior a bed. Such fun some of the cars I had.

Yep. 1977. Smokey & the Bandit made a lasting impression on me. I keep this one in my garage.

The best thing I got out of the 70s was my wife. Met her while on a helicopter rescue mission to Smith Island in the very frozen Chesapeake Bay in '77. We were 'sling loading' 600 gal fuel tanks from a tanker barge, frozen in the Bay, to the Island. Our landing area was behind the school and I was the guy assigned there. Linda taught school there and had the only coffee pot around. Between flights I would go there and suck down a cup or two. Things progressed from there.
Flew my Starduster Too for the first time 3-1973 after spending 3 1/2 years 3500-4000 hours building it.
Moved into an airpark 7-4-1979 after 6 months leave of absents from work and building the house.
I then built the 45' X 60' hangar

I established my personal life in the seventies. Discharged from the service. Met and married my wife. Had two boys. Had a good paying job and bought a home. All in the 70's.

Came home from the Military in 72 after two years away in the Army in Germany. Had at that time never been in a Mall. Things were different for sure. I will never forget my weird Uncle in a Pants suit with a big wide WHITE belt and White Shoes.

Most of the good versions of those were '60's cars. The '70's was the most pitiful decade for cars of all time ... except for the '80's.
You are correct, I was thinking mostly of the 65-69 models although I think the 1970 models were some of the best across the board. I graduated HS in 76 so these were our first cars and what we were driving in the 70’s and I loved it. I agree after 1970 cars were more show than go, although there were still a few that had excitement under the hood for a couple more years with the Pontiac 455SD, GS 455, LT1 coming to mind. For me the 70’s were the best years… not just for the cars we drove but the music as well. Amazing how many bands from back then are still performing.

Boone's Farm Strawberry for me and beer! I was the odd ball Mopar guy and still am! Loved my blue 69 Coronet 500! I would go through tires every three months or so. I had a friend with a green 69 Mach 1. I am sure all I remember are the good times but looking back I was lucky to grown up when I did! 50 years ago this year I graduated high school (17) and became a Marine! Very defining things that made me who I am today!
