I have a stainless Super Blackhawk in .44mag with the pinned front sight. I am trying to change the sight to a HiViz fiber optic for better visibility. I drifted out the pin, but the sight will not come out. I've tried lightly tapping with a mallet to jar it loose, padding it and pulling on it with pliers, and then I soaked it in kroil oil for several days and still nothing, won't even budge. Anyone else run into this same problem or know of an easy solution? Thanks

I have changed out several of the SBH pinned in front sights to install taller replacements. I have found them rather tight but not impossible to remove with pliers.
I would revert to a pair of diagonal cutters and a block of wood to act as a fulcrum. Of course the sight being removed will be damaged somewhat doing it that way. They are not hard to find or expensive though so I would not worry about that.

Welcome to the Forum..........A trick we use is put the blade of the front sight in a bench vise ( large one that is well anchored)
So the gun muzzle is pointed DOWNWARD ( empty, unloaded of course) the gun is up , above the end of the vise (either end, depends if you are right or left handed) with the blade of the sight tightened in the end of the vise ( and the pin is removed of course) use a large plastic or impact mallet, and give the barrel , (Just to the rear of the sight body) a sharp smack with the mallet, hammer and the sight blade will pop out............use smooth jaws if you are trying to "save" the sight blade...........
May want to have someone else help, hold the gun, or the hammer ,so the gun does NOT FALL off and out of the vise!! this is easier done than said, could have it out before it takes time to type up all this.............. 8)

we do this with all pressed in blades, and you can use wood blocks and pads to press any blade back ,into the gun sight slot........
