Just an idea. How bout posting pics of your SBH and SS Hunters with scopes and listing the scope type and scope ring heights. This may be helpful for those who are not sure what sized they need if their Hunters didn't come with rings or they need another size.

This is a Leupold 2x and #5 rings. There is about 3/16" between scope and frame at the back.

It may be the camera angle, but that picture looks like the rings are not letting the scope sit level on it. Measure the scope body at the front, and at the rear. (Or tell me it's the camera angle.)

I think it's camera angle. They measure within 0.004", and that was probably me.

My 41 Hunter has a Weaver 2x28 scope, forgot the ring height/size, but has .441(front) and .445 between the barrel rib and scope. (Same .004, LOL). If I moved the scope back a bit it would hit the rear sight blade.

I surely would like to see more like this!
Anyone have a SBH Hunter with an Ultradot 30? I recently got my SBH Bizley Hunter and am thinking of using an Ultradot 30. One problem - the U30 uses 30mm rings, but the SBH came with 25mm (1") rings. Will Ruger swap them out if I send back the 25mm rings?

I am told Ruger will indeed swap the 1" for 30mm rings if they are in unused condition. I have simply bought additional rings either on eb@y or from Optics Planet when I had a discount code.

My Hunter also with the #5 rings and a Leupold 2X. I switched the stock #4 for taller #5 rings when I used a Burris 2-7 x 32 that wouldn't clear the rear sight (or even the front sight if i remember correctly).

Here is the Burris in Medium Signature Zee rings on the Wiegand rail. I now use this scope on my Ruger Gunsite Scout rifle, but can use it on my SBH or SRH in a pinch with the Wiegands.
