Traded into this unconverted one in excellent condition. Not real old (91-63xxx) but doesn’t have “read your gun before shooting” on the barrel and that’s a blessing!

Safety note: I let 60+ years of experience take over and flipped the loading gate open when I was handed it for inspection. Yeah- 6 live rounds in the cylinder. Almost walked away from the deal.

On the safety note. That's something ALL of us should do. When I teach,, I tell everyone; "Consider all guns as if they are loaded all the time. Even if a gun was checked right in front of you,, YOU are ultimately responsible for safety if the gun is in your hands. Check them yourself! "

I picked up one not long ago, that is very close to yours, 91-575xx. Came with a Buchiemer holster which I really like. Got it on a local auction when a gun dealership went out of business. I bid on several but fell asleep during the auction and this is the only one I got.

And kudos on the safety. Anytime I introduce someone to shooting I teach them about always verifying if it is loaded or not. I emphasize that even if someone checked it, you check it again. Anyone with half a brain and experience with guns won't be offended by your checking it again, it should set them at more at ease.

Just spotted a similar serial number on another site (91-61xxx) that seller indicates is a 1973 gun. Is that right? Ruger web site doesn’t help.
