storm at the beach

My wife took these pictures. I thought they were pretty good, they are from last weekend. It was a big storm that moved from Houston down to Galveston. The black part of the sky is over Galveston.

It amazes me how big storms can get. I love WeatherBug. It's got a map section and you can see storms reaching from the Gulf of Mexico way up into Canada.

She said it was pretty eerie how quiet everything was. I believe it, just looking how calm the water is.

And she said the boats were trying to get back as fast as possible.

Cool pics! I just love a good storm pic, especially the next to the last pic showing the rain moving in.

You know things aren't gonna be good when you see the white fluffy clouds turn gray, then turn a dark menacing almost-black, and then you see a greenish color mixed in underneath. All that resulted in a tornado that wiped out the Jefferson County, Texas airport tower back in 1983.

BTW, Weatherbug's radar is lacking IMO. AccuWeather has the best radar. Weatherbug has free lightning warnings and a free lightning map so I have it too (for officiating little league).
