sticky sp101 trigger

i recently purchased a sp101 (.357). i changed the hammer strut mainspring, and the trigger guard latch spring with wolf springs (12 lb./8 lb.). the trigger resistance has improved, however, during dry firing the weapon the trigger sticks.

has anyone experienced this problem, and if so, what is the cause and the solution?

If the trigger will not reset reliably then you need to put the stronger latch/trigger return spring back in the gun. I always give a new gun a good cleaning and oiling. Dry fire the gun and run about 500 live rounds through it to loosen it up. After that you can re-evaluate and see if it needs any more work. Usually after a reasonable break-in period the trigger will be much better.

I am going to assume that the trigger "sticks" in the return mode and not on the pull... the small piece nestled inside the trigger that works the cylinder stop mechanism could probably use a little polishing where it engages the cylinder stop as the trigger is released... I hope that makes sense... my terminology for the parts and description of their operation may be lacking.

Wolff suggests taking a drill bit and de-burring the channel that the spring goes in. Only turn the drill bit by hand. This may be your problem.
