Recently picked up a Ruger SP101 9mm. I tried a set of Pachmayr Diamond Pro grips. They were pretty good but not quite what I wanted. Ideally, I would go with a set of Trausch TJ101 grips if I could find them. Has anyone tried the Recoil Rider SP101 grips?

Many moons ago, Mr Trausch contacted me after I ordered a set of his grips for the SP101. He sent me about 30 various sets of grips for K frames and other revolvers which I gave away on this forum. Including the TJ101. Not too long ago, I saw some SP101 police trade-ins that had the Trausch grips. I was tempted to buy one just for the grips. I wish now that I had.

I'm going to throw out a stupid idea here. Would it be possible to laser scan a set of Trausch grips, a couple of different vintages of SP101 grip stub as they changed size from my understanding, and then have the grips printed in polyurethane?

I have them for an LCR, they fit nice, are easy to conceal in the pocket. They are a tad slick for my taste and don't really help much with the recoil. Only shoot about 20 rounds per range session; for carry they are fine. I wrapped the rider grip with some pickleball raquet tape and carry the LRC that way.
I would imagine the 101 would proportionally be the same. If it were me I would take a long look at the Hogues.

Ideally, if you could find a police trade-in SP with the Trausch grips, maybe you could grade them. Buy a set of Hogue grips in-store and maybe pay a little difference.
