Patrick has made at least 8 sets of elk grips for me in the past and I've been completely satisfied with everyone. Before he sends them out to you he sends you an e-mail with pictures of them for your approval. I've always had my grips in my hand within one week of him getting payment.

I've had Ruger and S&W grips made without sending in my grip frame and have had very good luck. At times a little sanding was needed but overal very close. For Colt SAA grips he likes the frame sent in. Heres a set on a Colt New Frontier he just made me and I had him leave the screw assembly out and I glued them up into 1 pc.
Sorry to hijack the thread but can you tell me about your knife ftlupton? I have one similar to yours except I broke the tip off throwing it at an oak tree 50 years ago. I thought I was Jim Bowie sticking his in a door at the beginning of his shows. 
Yep, knife is an Edge brand made in Solingen, Germany. I have two of them identical and they have skinned many deer, antelope and a couple of elk, forgot how many fish. They are great old knives, have had them for more years than I care to remember. Still sharp as a razor and beautiful, at least in my eyes.

earlier this summer I decided to do what Ruger should have done back in the late 1950s and early 1960s, which is to offer a 4-5/8" 44 Blackhawk. For being only lightly customized it turned out even better than I expected. The Grashorn elk stocks just enhanced the result.

I have five sets of elk stag grips from stag-grips.com..William Jennings in Buffalo WY...on gunbroker. I drive past on my way to the Quigley Rifle Shoot in Montana every summer....got to stop and visit and see what he has for the VAQUERO I have with me "just in case he has a set of grips I like." First time was tough...he had two matching sets for BISLEYS and a set for a DRAGOON grip frame for the VAQUEROS I had brought along....four years ago and no problem with the grips so far.

Pat Grashorn makes fine grips and is easy to deal with. fair price also.
