SR9c Slide

Took the little lady gun shopping this weekend so, we could find her a gun of her own. Anyway, she liked the SR9c and so did I but, she couldn't rack the slide. I gave it a pull and I'll tell you that was the hardest slide I ever racked. I'm sure it will loosen up some but, how much or is this gun meant to have a hard slide. Thanks

it will lossen up very little. my wife was having troubles too. then she read this web site and its helped her racking the slide.

The SR9c has a hard rack on the slide. The benefit to this is the heavy spring reduces recoil. My buddy's wife really liked my SR9c, until she tried to rack the slide.

Local gun shop says that shorter barrel length often means heavier spring. Therefore it can be harder to rack the slide. I don't know if the SR9c is harder to rack than the SR9, but it is a bit harder than my PX4 Storm and a lot harder than my FNX9 - both full-sized models.
