BODYGUARD 2 SLIDE

I won a Bodyguard 2.0 from the local firemans raffle. have only put 30 rnds through it . weather has been a little cold to shoot. However the slide racks easily on mine and the 12 round mag extension makes it feel comfortable in my hand. I was going to sell it when I won it because I don't have much use for a .380. But I think I'll shoot it some more and see if it grows on me

I like the Bodyguard 2.0 size, capacity, and how it shoots. I want to keep it. I let one of our rangemasters, who is a good-sized 260+ pound dude, try it, and he had to struggle 2 or 3 times to rack the slide to the extreme rear and hold it there so he could engage the slide stop. I have been using the Handi Racker when I need to do that. I am now on a campaign to shoot 1000 rounds through it in the hope it will 'break in' - I'm up to 250 rounds, plus hundreds of Handi-Racker-assisted racks. After that - and sending it back to S&W - if it still requires a 260+ pound guy to get it to rack to the rear and hold it there to engage the slide stop, I'll sell it and settle for a different manufacturer 12+1 capacity 380 pocket-carry sized good-shooting [low muzzle flip] gun.

I just shot 100+ rounds through my Bodyguard 2.0 today, and then shot my Winter-time EDC Ruger Security 380, and the size difference is enormous!
You never answered my questions or acknowledged my points on how to rack a slide. It's common to see people not know rack a slide. At least an easy proper way. Yeah, I acknowledged racking a slide on a small semi auto can be harder than a larger frame gun, depending on hand size and strength.

Right [Strong Side] hand around grip with thumb against slide-lock, and left hand palm with thumb extended on left side of slide, with left hand fingers tight along right side slide serrations, push with right hand while pulling back slide with left hand until slide moves to extreme rear of travel, and use thumb upward force to engage the slide lock.

I'm not able to execute the last two steps - push with the right hand while pulling back slide with left hand until slide moves to the extreme rear of travel, hold it there and use the right thumb upward force to engage the slide lock. I haven't gathered equipment to measure the force required to move the slide to the extreme rear of travel, but based on one of my break-barrel pellet pistols [Hatsan] that is rated at 50-plus pounds of force required to engage its trigger, my Bodyguard 2.0 requires an extreme effort to rack the slide to the extreme rear. None of my other semi-automatic pistols requires that much force to manipulate the slide lock.

I currently use the Handi-Racker for range/maintenance [no EDC] until I can get this sorted out. I have hope, from reading Bodyguard 2.0 posts like '. . . However the slide racks easily on mine . . .' - reinforces my belief that something is definitely wrong with mine.

Thanks, I now know you're not a pinch the rear of slide with thumb and fore finger. Boy have I seem many attempt that move.
I just racked slides and engaged the side locks on GLock 17, 22, 48 and S&W shield 45 and bodyguard 2.0.
By feel, the bodyguard has the strongest recoil spring. I can still operate it fine but agree its a harder pull to get the slide locked open than any other semi autos I have.
