Has anyone switched out their slide stop yet? I keep causing the slide to lock back during firing on occasion. I dont have this problem with my gen4 glock but i do have this happen with the gen5 glock since its a little bigger.

I have replaced mine with a Gen 3 Extended Slide Stop from Glock. No issues and is much better.

I wonder if I have the wrong slide stop, the glock one was causing the slide to lock open more in the middle of a mag.

Would that be a MAG issue?
well, maybe youre right. ive been having the issue with the glock mags. ive switched between the glock slide stop and the oem one on the ruger and im always having problems with the glock mags. I was shooting today and i would have 3-4 slide locks in the middle of the mag. went in and got the magpul mags and no problems. i still wonder if part of it is the meat of my hand and the cut on the glock mags being smaller and the slide stop rides up on it during recoil and the meat of my hand slightly pushing up on it.

Never have, but I am left handed. None of the hundreds of cops I trained had that problem at the range. This is a 2 handed grip.
I am guessing your thumb or thumbs engage it the slide stop? If so your likely putting pressure on the gun from your thumbs. Stop it if you are. Proper grip, thumbs side by side, pointing up not over lapping and no pressure should be put on them. That pushes the gun sideways. I and we would go over all new shooters and look at groups and grip. Right handed shooters push the gun right when using pressure against the slide or frame. I would have them stop shooting and grab the thumbs while they are still aiming. No pressure against the gun. Thumbs are there because we have them not there to help hold the gun. Now single hand fire is different. You may need the thumb to help hold the gun. Just keep it away from the slide stop.
