Anybody reload lead bullets in their Sr9 ?

yup, i load mostly my own cast lead bullets in several handgun calibers.as for 9mm ive got a sr9c, a rock island 1911 9mm, and a hipoint carbine, the load i like best for cast is 6.0 gr bluedot behind a 124 gr lrn bullet 1.145 oal . its dirty as hell but its accurate and no leading . i also cast a 124 gr truncated cone bullet it also works well with 6.0 gr bluedot or sometimes i load them with 4.5 gr power pistol

would you mind sharing some load data for plated? i got some pretty decent accurate 9mm loads but only with cast and precision delta 115 gr fmj . i have some berrys 124 gr plated bullets here that ive had absolutly no luck with as far as accuracy and grouping . for the most part ive been loading and shooting them out of my 38 super but there nothing to write home about there either .

I cast my own and have found that a .358 bullet is more accurate & has no leading in my SR9C.

What type (model) of 124gr bullet are you referring to? Berry's makes five different 124gr 9mm bullets, RN, FP, HP, FPHB and RNHB.

I have been reloading for my SR9c for 2 years now.

For jacketed, I shoot Montana Gold 115 gr FMJ and JHP over 6.4 gr Power Pistol.

I have begin casting a 140 gr SWC for it, too. I use a SAECO #383 mold. Still working on loads, but I am getting good accuracy (don't have the load data handy). I size to .358 and use either BAC or Carnauba Red lube.

For the Berrys plated 124grhp I use 4.3 gr Uniqe seems to shoot good.

Berry's 9mm round nose bullets have the same nose profile, no matter the weight. You can easily load them to SAMMI max length (1.169") in most pistols, I load them to 1.160" for my CZ's.
CZ's have a very short transition from the chamber to the rifling and at 1.160" I still have about .015" clearance in those guns. The clearance in my SR9 is much more.
In the Berry's 124grs I use 231/HP-38 at 4.5 to 4.6grs at that 1.160" length, I have tried many different powders for these bullets but for the 124gr bullet I like the 231/HP-38 powders the best.
The key to accuracy is to have a "kiss" taper crimp on those bullets. Make a round, pull the bullet and if you see a mark in the plating, you are crimping too hard.

...Added note: the RNHB bullets are really accurate.

All the time. I use a 125 gn LRN & a 122 gn LTCFN purchased bullet using about 4 gns of Bullseye. Great fun to shoot & relatively inexpensive to reload.

I do. It does great with commercial 115 and 124 grain lead slugs. Light charges result in one ragged hole at 15 yards.

I use 115's mostly, so I'm no help with the 124's. Besides, that's the fun of reloading. Finding the bullet/powder/primer combo your gun prefers. Follow the manuels, and load safely. I use lead data when shooting plated, and maybe bump it up a little if necessary.
