When did the SR9 get it's update? My lgs has two SR9s that have the trigger safety, but have round mag release buttons. One serial number begins with 330-. Are these updated, or older models?

A "D" shaped mag release will tell you if it is the newer version. The round shaped ones function fine but the trigger is a bit more problematic, as in a stronger pull. I own a first run one that went back to Ruger for the "Glock" style safety trigger mod.

Here's mine before the trigger mod.

I checked the Ruger site. The serial number puts it post recall. It has the trigger blade safety, but it has the round mag release. Date on fired cartridge is 2009. The internals look exactly like my SR9c, so i picked it up. Thanks.

Hardly a curmudgeon, I like to laugh with people. I like my SR9 just fine but I knew what I was buying before I bought it. We use to see about 10 posts a day with people complaining about the SR9 trigger after the safety mod. I obviously had the before and after, the before trigger broke all over the place, the reset was never quite in the same place it seemed. The safety trigger is a fairly hard pull but it was short and consistent. The newer versions have a decent trigger pull for a striker fired pistol.

Well, i had an SR9c, and loved that trigger. I did notice that the reset bar in the SR9 is a bit different from the 9c. I had an extra, so i put it in while i was cleaning the Jurassic junk out from the factory. So mine has been good from the get go. No complaints here.
