Hi all, new member here. I just purchased my first handgun, a blued finish SR9. I have the unfortunate luck of being from the state of NJ, where simply acquiring a permit to obtain a handgun is a task in itself, and then we are bound by the may restrictions the state places. One of these restrictions is a maximum of 15rd magazines, which means I was forced to get my SR9 with the 10rd mags. So my question being, does Ruger or any aftermarket manufacturers make a 15rd mag for the SR9?

Thanks to Josh for the YouTube SR9 takedown video which is how I found the forum, I look forward to talking to everyone on the board.

Welcome.
Here in California the maximum magazine is 10 rounds.

I have only heard of 17 round or 10 round magazines.

Hello and welcome ESPMike, glad the video helped you out :).

AFAIK, you can only get the 10 and 17 rounders advertised as Ruger mags. Though Mec-Gar makes them for Ruger. Other pistol brands, SIG, CZ, etc....has Mec-Gar make them for their pistols as well, but allow Mec-Gar to sell the mags without branding for a little discount.

10 and 17 rounders on Midway.com for $40, 10 rounders on backorder though.

10 and 17 rounders on ShopRuger.com for $42, said the 10 rounder was in stock.

Thanks for the quick replies and the welcomes guys. I'll keep my fingers crossed that the model will become more popular and someone will make a 15 rd mag. Wonderful NJ wont allow 17.

Thanks again,

Mike
