SR 556 .22 conversion

does anyone make a drop in kit to run .22 in this rifle for cheaper practice? I have a cmmg and they say cant be used in a gas piston gun.

I don't see why it wouldn't work if you turned the gas off.... the .22LR conversion is blowback operation, and, IIRC, the SR556 has a gas valve that can be closed. If I'm wrong about the valve, then maybe you can't use it....
