I've looked at them several times and I'm leaning toward making a purchase. Seems they're getting pretty good press.

Had mine since February. It's a great pistol and a lot of fun to shoot with. I added the Crimson Trace 201 laser and that has only made it more enjoyable.
I can get 2 inch groups at 30 feet with the laser fairly easily. It's fun shooting at steel targets and 8 inch plates are an easy target. I was using my laser during the last outing at 30 feet since it was cloudy and the red dot stood out well on the white steel. Head and body steel silhouette shots at 100 feet were more challenging with open sights but still fun when you heard the ping of a hit.
The best thing about the SR is that it is so easy to break down. You can field strip it in less than 30 seconds. In the time it takes you to watch a video on how to clean other pistols you can assemble and disassemble the SR a dozen times. LOL
With a 3.5inch barrel it isn't the most accurate 22 that Ruger makes, but I wouldn't look at the SR if incredible accuracy is your only goal. There are better choices out there in my opinion. Currently there isn't much in the way of aftermarket accessories, but the two different grip designs and magazine extenders give you some options to be able to make it your own.

That's an honest observation that I can relate to.
As perfectly functioning as my SR22 pistol is, I have first-hand experience with two others that failed miserably. One of them requiring complete replacement from Ruger.
Don't know if I got lucky with mine, or maybe mine was made after the bugs were worked out. Bottom line is, I'm pleased with mine.

My son works part time in a local gunshop and they have had to return 3 of the last 5 they have sold. However, the one that I shot seemed to be fine for the 50 or so rounds that I put through it. I would not buy one for my use for a couple of reasons and the stupid reverse safety is probably the main one.

I did notice the "reverse" safety. Not so much of a factor for what my intentions are but still a little bit of frustration. I NEVER carry a DA pistol with the safety on anyway.
One of the local Farm stores ran them on special this week so I bought one. Pick it up tomorrow, blasted 3-day wait. I think it will replace my 317 S&W for carry when out playing in my timber.

I was in a local store(local being relative since around here 80 miles to a decent gun shop is acceptable)that is selling on GB also. I know what their in store prices are(about 20% below the shop in the next town down the road) and the auctions are going for less. The Grouch Attack has a business meeting in that town in 2 weeks so, if I win one of their auctions for 15-20% less than store price I'll come out even further ahead by not having another 160 mile trip added to the cost.
