I would begin the process of "negotiating" a good bit on it. A serious,, very up close inspection,, to make sure the condition was minty & not a re-blue would be a must.
Still I'd pass if they wouldn't come down quite a bit.
Of course,, I say that,, after just negotiating a sale on a Type 1 Roundgate made in 1958. The seller was asking $750 for that one. It had some minor issues,, but the factory stags made me work on taking it home.
The seller didn't know if the stags were factory,, and I didn't want to try & remove the grips to get a closer look. He accepted my offer of $600,,, and after I got it,, I moved away & had a good friend who had screwdrivers. Close examination by both of us confirmed the stags were very likely factory!
The stags were removed,, a correct set of factory grips were added. Then the stags were placed on a Type 1 FT .357.
