SP101 lock?

I have an SP101 .357 new at my dealers. I'm waiting for my permit (I know, NJ sucks). Anyway do these have any kind of built in lock?

Can't speak for the latest generation of the gun, but my 3 yr old SP101 doesn't have one. It did come with an external padlock.

No the only lock they have is the padlock. I just picked up one last night and that is all that came with it.

Thank God! I wish S&W would follow suit and get rid of them. Notice how any pictures show the non lock profile of the gun. I had a S&W 642 that I had a gunsmith professionaly disable, but it cost me $60. If they were so proud of it, then why do they "hide" it in their nomenclature and pictures? I do NOT want a lock on my guns. They are either in the safe or loaded and ready to go....... :shock: I have since shifted my business to Ruger.
