Somber thoughts.......

I'm not superstitious, but really unusual events:

I bought a Smith & Wesson Model 36 from a friend of mine. He died three years ago.

I bought a S & W Model 19 from a friend of mine. He died about two years ago.

I bought a S & W Model 29 from a friend of mine. He died earlier this year.

I bought used Ruger Vaquero two weeks ago. Today I asked for some information about who made the grips, figuring the previous owner might provide that. The gun shop owner said the gun was being sold by his widow.

The really good stuff only comes out when the owner dies.

20 years ago, I started looking for a Remington Model 12, like the one my father taught me to shoot with. No luck.

Now, every gun show has 6 or 8, they're all over gunbroker, and I just handled a 12-C in .22 Special at the local pawn shop. It's no coincidence that "the greatest generation" is dying off.

I thought the same thing recently when I ran across a minty Winchester 71 standard produced in 1955. You just don't run across them....especially in well taken care of condition! I thought to myself the owner must have passed and the rifle sold by his widow. They are somber thoughts indeed

Really sorry to hear of the odd things you are experiencing. Please do not associate these sad things with your buying. I believe things such as this is out of our control.

Yes , I will sell no guns, in fact I am putting in an order for a custom casket to include a horizonal gun racks , so they can go with me .Naw only kidding they go to my Grandson as it should be.

After reading this, my advice is for you to have your Will made out and make sure your "life insurance" is in good standing. When the funny looking guy with the sycth come this close to the door it should give pause about why he is coming your way. Cats are supposed to have 9 lives, I think we have to make do with only one. So use and enjoy what you have

I don't know that I have ever bought graveyard guns, but I have some from my father-inlaw, and a good friend now deceased. The 44 revolver I suggested he buy is now by my bedside.

I've never sold a gun,,, did trade a 1911 for a mini-30, but I don't think that counts... maybe I'll live forever.... but not going to sell one to Bob for sure.
