Sling recommendation for AR556

Hello All:
I was fortunate enough to get a AR556 for Christmas. Not a newbie to rifles, shotguns, or revolvers, but a newbie to the AR. I shot an AR for the first time last summer and wanted one since.
Anyhow, I digress.
Been looking at slings today and realized I just do not know what to buy. There is the Magpul with swivel at $100, and the Uncle Mikes at $29. I know I need a quick disconnect swivel, but not sure what to buy.
I'd like to be under $50, but would pay a little more if worth the money. The $100 Magpul is a little too rich for me.

It really depends on what you are going to use the sling for... Are you wanting a sling to carry the rifle over your shoulder, or are you wanting to sling up for accuracy? Are you wanting a tactical type sling that allows you to transition quickly to a handgun?

I use an old GI cotton web sling. Works fine for carrying the rifle in the field, and allows me to sling up for shooting from field positions while hunting. YMMV

I bought the Magpul sling at Cabela's for like $59----and Cabela's isn't exactly known for being reasonably priced.

I got the "Patroll Sling" at Cabela's and it seems pretty good. However, I don't sling it much.

Since I carried M-16's exclusively with the Viet Nam-era issue sling, I prefer it to anything else.

Known as a Navy Sling, or an M-14 sling, both terms are correct.

They are cheap, and I suspect someday they wont be available, so I kind've have loaded up on them. :mrgreen:
