over the years often times (too often) you will find anomalies of 'failure' to make something 'correct' in the first place...YES does make one wonder just how they could ship ,IF they were indeed actually on ( in a gun) and not off the FUBAR rack ( scrap bin) that was how we came across the ones Laura used to have over the years,but she got rid of all that stuff long ago, only wanted to "collect" that, what was 'right'......... bad enough Ruger collectors "love" defects in the finishes or put a high dollar on "seconds" and "used" guns...yes you will find notches missing, flutes, NOT "fluted" chambers not all there, or chambered differently (mag and long rifle) in the same cylinder,but for the MOST part those were "scrap parts" and if it was "installed",, QC, was asleep at the wheel and the gun was NOT test fired before shipping....let alone cleaned and final inspected...ha ha
We spent time on the fitting bench at both Dan Wesson Arms & High Standard, so got to "see" & "do", first hand what was supposed to be done and done correctly :wink:
