Since its Christmas, I watched "Die Hard"

Watched "DIe Hard" today and have to admit I had forgotten just how good a film this is. But I also forgot how long ago it was made, 1988! It holds up amazingly for a 35 year old movie. Maybe the biggest clue as to its age is the lack of cell phones. I also wish I could get some of those unlimited capacity magazines being used. For what look like 30 round magazine, each has to be holding 150 rounds or more from the way the guns are being fired. And a few scenes, such as when "Hans" falls to the ground, are eerily reminiscent of the reality of 9/11. I guess this is now my favorite "CHristmas movie".

We watched it again the other day.

I actually feel a bit sad,, because of how Bruce Willis has been suffering health issues. He didn't seem like many of the hollyweird types.

Hats off to Hollywood's favorite henchman, who had one of the funniest cameos in Die Hard. Although in Die Hard, Al was upstaged by the late Alexander Godunov, who had the best henchman role of all time as Alan Rickman's malevolent sidekick Karl.

Damn, and we've also lost Rickman, and Bruce Willis is just . . . slipping away.

Watched my favorite campy Christmas movie earlier. Night of the Comet. Survivors are two Valley Girls and a Mexican truck driver. But the burden of civilization is on them so it should be okay.

Last year it didn't air on any channel and I felt unfulfilled.

My favorite Christmas movie is Donovan's Reef. No guns involved but there is a fair amount of friendly violence. :)

I am amazed at how many never watch one of the all time great Christmas movies...Santa Claus Conquers The Martians. It has it all, much like The Giant Claw being high end horror/sci-fi. :)

Die Hard is NOT a Christmas movie, it is so much MORE than that! One may watch it at anytime of the year, not just Christmas, for it is a great dramatic, comedic, little romance and action movie.

Well, one thing changed since last year. I persuaded my wife to sit & watch "Die Hard" with me a couple of weeks ago. She liked it. It was not at all what she expected.

Of course die hard is a Christmas movie....
Bruce should have had a gas jet insert in that zippo... but not sure they were made for them back then.

Die Hard has been on at least four times in the last week. I have a Samsung TV (free TV) and several channels have a lineup which they seem to repeat at least once a day. I wonder how many other manufacturers the same kind of lineup???

There is one scene where breasts are flashed as people are running. How many buckets of blood? I'm unsure but there are 13 terrorists at the beginning of the movie & there are victims.
