Sights loosen!

Hi! Love my 22/45 Lite (my wife's)! The sights were both loose when we got it! We didn't know it until we couldn't get it zeroed in. They checked it and the sight was loose and way off. Realigned it and it is fine!
My front sight was loose also! I noticed it when I put dayglo orange site paint on it. I have tightened it twice in around 400-500 rounds. Should I locktite it?

A little blue Loctite will take care of the issue.

Some of us take a piece of fishing line, insert the end into the hole, add the screw & tighten. Then cut off the tail of the line. It acts as a nylon spacer & is easily removed, if necessary.

Hi,

I'm sure they're out there, but I haven't seen a Mk-series with the screw on ramp front site that couldn't benefit from some Loctite on the screw. Remember to use blue, NOT red (you may need to remove the sight some time in the future), and be sure to clean the threads of the screw and barrel very well (I like brake cleaner) unless you want to repeat the job after another few hundred rounds.
