Been away for a while. In the interim, I have placed on layaway a Wiley Clapp GP 100. Great lookin "business gun". Have searched the net for shooters who have actually fired them.

Interested in what types of groups and accuracy they are getting from this model. I've seen the gunblast video, but like to see some images from 'regular" guys. Please take pity on this ole wheelgun guy and show some targets from the WC-GP100!

Thank you

I thought I had some pics but I can't find them at the moment. I tried all kinds of different ammunition from factory and handload. The lighter bullets grouped the worst the midrange bullets grouped decent and the heavies grouped the best. The Federal 180 grain Castcore shot the best of anything. Recoil was quite manageable with that load. My normal handload is a Beartooth 180 WFNGC with a stout charge of H110 and it shot pretty close to the Federal load.

mattsbox99: Thanks for the reply, traditionally Rugers have always liked heavier bullets in 357 glad to see the trend still holds. Thanks again!

Anyone buy this gun besides mattsbox99 and me? I thought I would get more response than this!

If you got one and are shooting it post up a pic or two, please.

I don't have the Clapp edition but do have both a stainless and blued 3".

99% of my shooting is with mild re-loads at 7 to 10 yards killing paper plates and the like so ..... I don't keep ballistic or accuracy info.

I have never had a 4" GP but can tell you I didn't care for the weight and balance of the 6" GP at all.

I passed on the chance to buy a used Clapp because I didn't trust the finish on it to be durable. Heard lots of negative reports on the "matte" finish on the Super Redhawks but don't know if they are the same.

Thanks Hittman for the response. I had a 4" GP in Target Grey that put six rounds in 5/8s of an inch from sandbags at 25 yds. Like a fool sold it to a friend and thought the ClappGP would make a great replacement.

That 4" GP fired the best pistol group I ever shot in my life of 1/2 century of handgunning. If the finish goes bad the gun is still stainless. If not hard chrome. I bought this WC to carry and to use.

I now feel old.

6" GPs are heavy and slow to get into action. The 3" WC should be a great carrying and shooting revolver.
