Santa just came by the house atop the local fire engine truck. Waving to all. Normally they have some elves with him, giving candy canes to the kids, but the weather is rotten tonight so he is just riding along and alone.

I admit to still believing in Santa but in many ways I am still the little girl who never grew up beyond the magic of the season, even watch How the Grinch Stole Christmas at least once every Christmas season. Boris Karloff and Max the dog are wonderful. But, I do admit that growing up and even now my Christmas times were and are more Robert Earl Keene, Merry Christmas From The Family:

Sounds like Santa is soldiering on in your Maryland weather OP. Lots of festivities were simply canceled due to our weather down here in Central Virginia.

Hi,

There's a fire station about a half mile from my house. One of the doors is normally closed all the time, but the other day, the guys opened it up: it's time to polish up their beautifully restored 1950s fire engine so Santa has a dry ride in today's Christmas parade if it starts raining and the sleigh's a little wet. Don't want the Ol' Boy getting pneumonia this time of year!
