Don't know if this was covered elsewhere. Sorry if it was
I want to pick up a brass grip frame and fit it to a NMBH. Is there any difference between 1860 Army, 1862 pocket Navy, 1851 Navy, 1847 Walker etc in terms of bolt pattern/placement to fit the BH? Does it matter if its from a .36 or .44? Is there a brand to use (Uberti, Pietta, CVA, etc) that is better than the others for this application?

Nope, whole different animal. Gotta get one designed for use on the Rugers.

I've seen sharps40 post on 1860 Blackhawk. That's why I have the bug to do it. Just didn't know if all grips were created equal

You will be money ahead,, as well as a lot fewer sleepless nights if you just get a Ruger type brass grip frame.
I believe Qualite offered one for the NMBH. I have one in my parts bin,,, and it'll screw on just fine.

Grip frames for all the guns you listed are different from ruger and from each other:

The 62 Police is way too small.
The 47 Walker is too large and the grips are cut into the cyl frame.
Your best bets are the 51 Navy (colt SAA size) and the
1860 Army (Ruger SBH Dragoon length +.)

Both the 51 and 60 will need the rear trigger guard screw holes brazed up and redrilled to match the Ruger screw pattern.

Hope that helps you make a choice of those.

Another choice with a lot less work is to just get the Ruger grip frame of the size you prefer brass plated, either an alloy or steel frame.

Power Custom makes a two piece brass GF of Colt SAA size, $200 +.

And as contender posted there are after market brass Dragoon size GFs for Rugers that can be found that aren't produced any longer.

I have 1 extra Dragoon style brass grip frame that is build for a New Model Blackhawk/Super Blackhawk.
Very nice and clean virgin casting that will require minimal work to fit it up and then polish to finish. I would part ways with it for $250 shipped, PM if interested.
