S&W Model 49, Nickel, J-Frame Revolver, .38 Special, Snub, 1-7/8 Barrel, $850 Delivered Insured. The serial number decodes to a 1982 manufacturing date. No MIM (component parts using metal injection molding), no Hillary hole (ugly lock), but an old school integral firing pin hammer.

I purchased it from the original owner sometime before Y2K. I have never fired it. I have never cleaned it other than wiping it down with preservatives. The original owner said he never fired, but it has traces of carbon soot around three non-adjacent chambers (evident in the last picture).

First "I will take it" in this thread wins. For payment I like a USPS money order, but a personal check will suffice from established inmates. Shipping will be by either SMG or from my usual local gun shop/FFL.

I'll ease your pain on the cylinder smudges. They're from the factory proof firing.
My 629 which I bought brand new was smudged in every other cylinder hole. Technically ,the firearm is unfired other than factory testing. I wish I had the money. That particular version (M49 and 649) are my favorites of all the J frames.

Dude, you’re missing out if you’ve never shot that thing. I carry mine on Sundays, when I’m going to church. But I occasionally shoot it on Sunday afternoons. It’s a great revolver!

I’m tempted, but would need to be less $.

The only thing better is if you have a Tyler T-Grip on them. I like how they look and feel. It improves how they shoot also. Here is a Model 638 Bodyguard with the Hillary Hole locking mechanism deleted and a Scott Foster head buster. I can't think of anything more comforting in your pocket.

They were all test fired that way. Unknown about current times.
