I HAVE A RUGER NO. 3 CHAMBERED IN .223 AND WAS WONDERING ITS APPROXIMATE VALUE. IT WAS MANUFACTURED IN 1983 AND IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. IT HAS SCOPE RINGS ON IT ALREADY. I WANT TO TRADE IT FOR A RUGER REVOLVER IN .357 CALIBER. ANY HELP WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

welcome to RFC.
I am thinking no one has replied as it might seem as an offer!
a little googling has a range of 400 to 800 with most in the middle of that

I purchased a #3 in .223 from a forum member last November/December. I paid $700.00 shipped in a plastic case and if I was guessing, I'd bet the shipping & case was $50-$75, putting the actual cost of the rifle around $625-$650. It was/is in excellent condition and made around the same time frame I believe the early/mid 80's. I'm very pleased w/it but only have 1 complaint. I don't get to shoot it much. See, my better half shot it 1 time & fell in love, thus taking it away from me. It is accurate enough for us, easily busting 2 liter pop bottles of water at 200yds. I wish I had some trading material because I'd like another to match it.

PS.....Thanks again Winchester348 :)

Last one I bought I paid $650 for but THAT is all I'll pay for a #3 because I only buy them to make into #2s.

I think that's a fair price for any of the common caliber #3s for a shooter.

Last one I bought was 650 dollars but it was a 30-40 krag. The last gun show I set up at a man came by the table right at closing time and had a mint #3 in 44 mag, he wanted 800 dollars and I should have pulled the trigger but I didn't. It still haunts me. ha
