Ruger New Products for 2018...

The sleeve and shroud barrel on Redhawk is news to me. Not sure that I want one either. Had a model 69 S&W with that arrangement. Did not do much for me.

That configuration on the Redhawk should have been offered on the GP platform; and a half-lug GP at that.
If you're gonna do that to a Redhawk, make it a 41 or 44, not 357.

But I'm not the decision maker for Ruger and rarely buy new guns anyway.

There in lies the problem. There are lots of us that only rarely buy new gun. But that is just what the manufacturers need people to do. They are all hurting. And the world is changing, because folks like you and like like the older guns and the young people coming up, don't like what the current collectors are collecting. They want something entirely different. Which in turn means the new stuff will become less desirable for us.

2 guns that caught my attention today. The Ruger PC9 carbine. I think it is rather heavy for its use and I am not as impressed as I had hoped I would be.
The other was very impressive, an air rifle that shoots a 50 caliber 350 grain bullet at 1000 feet pre second. The booth had video of hunting deer with it and one of the sales persons had photos pf a recently killed wild hog. Nice entry wound butt the exit side was fantastic.
The company is UMERAX from Arkansas.

I'm making up for you guys. I've bought quite a few new guns this year.

There's a couple more in my sights as we speak. The old PC4/PC9 has been a favorite of mine for a long time. Out of production, and climbing in price, mine has become a safe queen. Now I can get the new PC Carbine and start shooting one of these neat carbines again. I bought the Kel Tec Sub 2000 to take over the duty of my PC4 carbine, and although the Kel Tec is a surprisingly wonderful and dependable shooter, I still look forward to the PC Carbine.

Well, old Hoss, I'm looking forward to a report as soon as it comes in. What mags do you plan on using?

And I am glad you are supporting the manufacturers on these new guns. There was one that interested me somewhat but I'm still up in the air on it. Ruger American Rifle® Ranch in 7.62x39 I think that may have some potential.

I really don't know what magazine I'll use. I don't own or shoot any Glocks, so a Glock magazine doesn't make for any extra convenience, other than it's what my Kel Tec carbine uses. I suppose whatever magazine well is installed when the gun comes, is the magazine I'll use.

I have the American Ranch in 7.62x39. Great concept. Just haven't seen the accuracy that other folks have reported. I'm not a fan of commie ammo, but as I've repeated many times, I just want to know if my guns will shoot it. This gun shoots a slightly smaller group with the commie ammo than it does with what I consider much better quality ammo, PPU.

A 2-1/2" group should be plenty good enough for most work, but I've become a real accuracy snob over the years, and a 2-1/2" gun will likely get little use. Dave, on the other hand, is getting a much smaller group with his exact same rifle. I've been buying domestic ammo (it's hard to find) to see what real potential my gun has, but the weather has kept me at home and unable to give this ammo a try. And, if it requires 27-bucks-a-box domestic ammo to make it shoot, that also makes it an expensive gun to shoot.

Those are really nice but it and the high pressure filling equipment are right expensive.

I see that the Mark IV Tactical is the ugly sister of the Mark IV standard.

Man that thing is Ugly. It's all lumpy and bumpy. Poor thing...

Well it is "functional". You can mount a Red dot on top, a flashlight on the bottom. If you could add a couple of rails on the sides you could mount a laser on one side and a bayonet on the other, then unscrew the front cap and install a surpressor. Everything a "Mall Ninja" would ever need. :D

They should change the name from Tactical to Uglical
