Ruger Mini 30 Tactical Range Report

Picked the gun up on friday afternoon,and drove straight to the range. Pulled it out of the box and run a brush and patch through the barrel. Checked the actrion loaded up and started shooting. Right out of the box My wife and I ran 60 rds through it before the range closed. I'm happy to say it was everything the reports have been stating. The gun is easy to control,sights are excellent. My wife was able to shoot it offhand out to 50yds without problems. This is the gun next to our bed every night.

I've often heard people say hearing the sound of a pump shotgun action being cycled will turn most intuders away. Then I believe that hearing sound of that Mini 30 bolt slamming closed inside our home will also do the same but if not then there is 20 rounds waiting.

Georgia Arms has started making it and selling it in bulk. I bought 300 rounds at a local gun show for 90 bucks last month.

I saw one yesterday at Whittakers. I liked it. Was hoping to see a thread on it here. Thanks Blume for the Georgia arms info. Looks like a good deal there. I have had two 30's in the past and the ammo/mag problem caused me to get away from them. Looks like that wold not be a problem anymore. The tactical I saw looked great. Hope it shoots as well?
