Today I took an 18 year old relative (a Connecticut resident) shooting. It was the first time he had seen a handgun but he was eager to try.
I took my 4" FT, a snubby S&W 624 also in .44 special and my S&W M&P 2.0 in .40.
This young man took to shooting like a duckling in water. Despite the fact that I had not yet treated the front sight with glow in the dark fluorescent gel nail polish he did exceptionally well. He had very little trouble keeping most in a left ventricle / right ventricle area at 15'-20'. When we were finished I asked which of the handguns he liked the best and it was the FT!
When I got to shoot the FT its ~2.5 pound trigger made testing my warmish 240 JHP's easy to hit my 2/3 size bowling pin target in either the head or body at 25'. I too couldn't see the sights well without correction or I'd have shot longer distances. All in all he shot some 100+ .44's and nearly 100 .40's.
As usual the old 625 (my gator protection while fishing gun) with its orange ramp was a dream to shoot even without my prescription shooting glasses.
