Ruger 77 hawkeye

I was looking for a Ruger 204 but the ammo cost a bunch and brass was hard to find.I walked into a shop today they had a new model 77 hawk eye in mat stainless in 223 haven't shot yet do to the rain it fits in well with my #1 mark 2 7mm-08.

If you reload, the cost of new .204 Ruger brass and bullets, while more expensive than typical .223 Rem components, aren't prohibitive so the ammo cost isn't too bad. Midway lists .204 Ruger brass from five different makers and four of them are currently in stock.

Factory .204 ammo is indeed more expensive than most .223 Rem factory ammo which is available much cheaper and in a huge variety of loadings. Reloading the .223 is very straightforward and components are everywhere.

I own both 223 and 204's. I have to agree that for the cost and small difference in performance, the 223 is the logical selection.

Now, my 204 shoots like a laser beam. I can watch my rounds impact down range through the scope. So, I still load for and shoot my 204 in the right conditions.
