.338 Winchester Magnum has counted for many elk and an occassional deer. This rifle was done in 1979 by Dale Goens and a variety of metal workers and checkered by my friend here in Friona, Gary Hand. The rifle is pleasing to the eye and functions wonderfully. I have been playing with an off camera flash and my technique will hopefully improve. Dr.C

Kevin, Thank You. That is a Navajo Transitional blanket. I need more detailed photos of the Ruger. It is a tang safety model with the tang removed and a Weisner Model 70 three position safety. The stock is of the old flatbolt straight loading port style. Goens did his notable three panel checkering of the bolt handle, Dowtin did the express sights and Darwin rust blued the thing, barrel is the Ruger one that came in the rifle [it was an R ]. Dr.C
