Talked to Ronnie today and I have no idea which grip frame of his I like the most.

Could you guys please post some pictures of ones you might have?

I’ve got a few…

These are the Dealer grip frame on several different models. All have the Bisley trigger guard.

Here’s how a Dealer fits in my huge hands-

Here is a Bradshaw Bisley -top- (now Contender’s) along with the brass Dealer.

Here is an unfinished BFG-L with the Bisley trigger guard.

And a Lee Martin XRHybrid with a Dragoon trigger guard-

And here’s an idea of my hand size on a piece of standard paper-

Well this will be interesting experiment, especially seeing a plethora of RW best.

2005 50th Anniversary Flattop, with a RW Brass Super Hunter, same size as the Super Blackhawk Dragoon but with a rounded trigger guard vs the squared off dragoon.

327M Single Seven with a RW Brass Keith #5 w/ Bisley trigger guard to accommodate Bisley trigger.

Well, I’ve been married 45 years and my wife was a model, and we have 2 kids. So I’m in pretty good shape-

This project is pretty divisive. Some love it ,,,,some hate it.
But it pleases me and is a hoot to shoot, so who cares.
Gun came to me as a parts puppy and the barrel was too damaged to repair so no healthy gun was damaged in the process.

This is the RW aluminum Lightning grip. I think of it as a Single Action Mountain Gun. A joy to carry but can be a beast to shoot.

Wow! Thanks for all those pics of the Dealer, Randy. I've got a couple projects that I've had swirling around in my head. The first, a aluminum Dealer for my Horvath Lil'Gun. The second, a brass Dealer on a Flattop 45. Kind of a baby Linebaugh without the $$$. I really appreciate seeing what that design looks like on the various Ruger models.

No problem! The Dealer has become one of my favorites. I can’t wait until I get my next shipment from Ronnie- another Dealer, and a Super Blackhawk .300 longer with a Bisley trigger guard. And some Bisley hammer/trigger stuff.

I’ve got a 44 mag Vaquero as well. It’s the 4 5/8” barrel… sweet piece but the plow handle is a bit large for my smaller hands. How do you like this lightning grip frame? I noticed it says new model on his website, looking at your pics it looks like you have the old large framed vaquero much the same as myself. Assuming you got the “new model lightning grip frame” and had no issues with fitment?

The RW grip frames mount up just fine. However,, you do have to do a bit of final fitting to properly mate your gun to the g/f.

I have a couple of his grip frames,, and they are top of the line. But to get that seriously custom look, you will need to spend a little time fitting the g/f.

As for the .44 Mag Vaquero,, and it's "large frame" when considering the purchase of a g/f,, it really doesn't have a lot of bearing. What WILL affect things is the recoil of a .44 mag in that g/f style.

Have read around for a while and figured it prudent to go ahead and join.

I am okay with doing some bench work, but just wanted to make sure his grip frame labeled “new” would still fit an original pre “new” framed vaquero.

I admit I am crazy enough to enjoy 44 mag in the birds head style grip frames - but will not lie and call it pleasant. Just enjoyable
