RIP Michael Collins

I'm sort of having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that ANY astronaut could be ninety years old!

Astronauts been going into space since the 60's do the math!
They were not newborns! Time marches on! ps

What's really amazing about that to me is that everybody who's been to the moon, if they're still alive, is in their 80s or 90s. It's been far too long since we've been back there.

Hi

It's even harder for me to think it's been 60 years since JFK said we'd put a man on the moon (and get him back!) within that decade. RIP, Major General Collins, probably the most important designated driver of that time!

One of the things about those astronauts I did not know until a few years ago was just how book smart they had to be. Those guys weren't just tough but knew how to do calculations and engineering to an extreme. Things that would melt my brain. I grew up with them as my hero and that has not changed... but no way I can imagine being locked up in a small tin can with two other guys for a week.

Even harder than that to think JFK himself would have turned 104 this May. So many of this generation are frozen in time.

RIP Major General. A man dedicated to service to our country.

Thirty trips around the moon, it is difficult to fathom the bravery of our astronauts, just nerves of steel.
