RIP Don Williams

The Gentle Giant... Big Don Williams. I think he recorded some 35 albums between 1971 and 2014. Retired, came out of retirement, retired again. He had a golden voice.

Man... This makes me incredibly sad.

RIP Don.

Damn, that's sad I saw him at a small venue in Chattanooga about 4 years ago. What a voice! And what a soft spoken character he was. Rest in Peace, Don, and thanks for the memories...

Remember when he started out with the Pozo Sago singers. Loved their album
" Time". I have recorded a majority if his songs. Sad day, he brought a lot of joy to a lot of people. R.I.P.

Sad. I listened to him when I was a young buck but sadly country music kicked Don and many of his contemporaries to the curb. Good music.

I have a Don Williams story.. but can only tell it in person... East Coast Gathering.... nothing against him... just an interesting encounter my wife and I had with him one night.

Sadly, almost all of my favorites have passed on. Don was one of the best. He was a dead ringer for a friend at work. My friend died last year.

I am not a big fan of CW music with the exception of some of the greats, I put Don right up there with the Man in Black and the Coal Miners Daughter. I was dumbfounded to learn that Sissy Spacek did her own singing in the movie.

Always enjoyed Don's music, had several of his albums/cassette tapes back in the day. I was surprised to find when I visited Zimbabwe several times in the late 90s-2007 that he was still very popular there. I would hear his music playing frequently in stores and shops.

growing old and being the last one standing is a sad walk thru life. its what everyone wants....but its sad to witness the others leaving around you.
I often wondered what it would be like to be told in bed....feeble, and no one knew who I was, or cared.
maybe some day I will know.

RIP Don Williams. My favorite all time country type singer. I have numerous CD's of his music that I enjoy frequently. Very sad news.......
