Last Tuesday, Mar. 5th, I went to the grocery store as usual to dom my week's grocery shopping. Got home just before 7:00 a.m. and put my groceries away and fixed me some breakfast. I felt sort of strange. kind of light headed, and took my blood pressure. My monitor indicated irregular heart beat. I waited a few minutes and tried again with the same results. So I called 911. Well, they transported me to the hjospital. Wednesday the cardiologist said I needed a pacemaker, so I said O.K. So I had that implanted Thursday and came home Friday. Everything seems to be going well.

My niece, who has been supportive of me since Nita's death, stayed with me most of the time. She herself had an eye appointment Friday, so my Sunday School teacher brought me home from the hospital.

I am impressed with the hospital's care and conceern with me while I was there. This was a change from the one Nita was in during her illness, and there was a world of difference. But I expect to be, like Gene Autry, "Back in the saddle again."

Glad to hear that caught it and everything went well, and that you are doing well too. Having a good support group, family, friends, neighbors are a blessing. My mother (soon to be 91) went through a similar experience several years ago and thankfully she is still going strong now. Glad you listened to your body and acted promptly. Take care and wish you a speedy recovery.

Good thoughts for your quick recovery, Bob.
Mine was installed in October and seems to be working well.
That lump just below the clavicle takes some getting used to, but the swelling will go down and you’ll hardly notice it is there.

Well, I don't have "that lump just below the clavicle." Mine was inserted through the artery from the groin and is in, or near the heart. Battery is supposed to last ten to fifteen years. It is completly wireless.

Glad you got it checked right away, something many folks fail to do. When I did, they discovered my widow maker artery was mostly blocked and calcified. They had to drill it out to put a stent in.
Hopefully the the older we get the smarter we get.

Glad you are doing better. Mine was installed about 5 years ago. Recent check they said I had about 3 more years on the battery. Interesting how they installed yours. It must be a very small battery. Did they tell you to avoid anything that creates electro magnetic fields?

glad things worked out for you ,

I get the " My monitor indicated irregular heart beat " quite a bit, even got it last night after reading this but then that's been the case for me for years , Doc's know about it and say it's not bad enough to do anything yet

No, none of the cautions associated with the older type peccmakers are in effect.

Bob, I'm glad you got checked out quickly and they fixed you up. Medical care today is wonderful and life-saving. My pacemaker has been working great for 7 years now.... the battery good for 3 more years.
Prayers for continued healing.

I must have missed this post ...
Get well soon and resume a wonderful life.
J.
