Replace trigger guard GP100

Hi,
after buying an used GP100 6" SS, I want to replace the trigger guard. The previous owner did a very poor job installing a trigger stop, he drilled two holes which aren't even aligned at all. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement? Ruger wants me to send the gun back to them if I want it replaced, but that could be a problem since I live in Scandinavia.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the forum. Unfortunately, unless you just luck out on someone parting out a GP, sending the gun back to Ruger is your only choice. Ruger will not sell some parts to the public. You might check some of the internet sites that sell things such as gun parts, but I would say that would be a hard part to come across.

Agreed , I`ve never seen 1 on Gun Parts & it may need fittng to each individual revolver .

All of my GPs have had the revolvers ser. # etched on em in some manner.

First, I would try to find someone to repair your existing trigger guard by welding or drilling and threading the holes, then filling them with a piece of threaded .material, then grinding and polishing. I've seen some stainless steel repairs on marine applications that were almost invisible. If you do manage to find a trigger guard I'm not sure it would fit without some metal work anyway.

Thanks to everyone for the replies and the nice welcome. I've seen some parts for sale on gunbroker, but it's far between auctions that actually have the part I'm looking for. Threading the holes and repair it that way doesn't sound like a bad idea at all, so I'll look into that.
