My father owned an 870. He also had a tie clip that looked like an 870, along with flying duck cufflinks. Did Remington offer these as a set with the purchase of a shotgun?

If these were an official Remington product, it's possible they came from the accessories catalog where you could order their knives.

Those type of items are and have been popular with duck hunters at event dinners from DU etc. I am guessing on this, but if it was sold or given away by Remington I think their trade mark would be on them somewhere. The big R. I have no idea if Remington ever sold or gave that type of stuff away with a purchase. My history goes back to mid 1970s selling 870s and never seen or heard of that. Where ever they came from may not be a big deal, but they sound cool and collectable.

Remington did sell accessories. I have a tie clip for a 3200 o&u.

I got out a magnifying glass, and discovered the shotgun is a Remington 11-48. The only marking is HICKCOK.
Hickok used to be the largest men's belt maker in the U.S. They also made all sorts of men's accessories, like cuff links, wallets, and tie clips. I am sure I had many of their products in my youth. I wouldn't know where any of that is now. I used to wear jackets and ties six days a week. Occasional French cuffs also. I suppose I am partially responsible for the death of men's accessories by going casual like most men today.
