My wife is really into it. I have tried to (be a good husband) and watch it. :(
Overacting, terrible scrips, and the star has a never-ending pinched look on her face as if she's passing a kidney stone.
I miss the original A LOT.

I enjoyed the original. Haven’t seen the new, don’t watch much tv anymore, but sometimes binge something on Netflix if I have a day off and someone has recommended it.

For the simple reason that Edward Woodward in the original series and Denzel Washington in the movies brought a class, dignity and gravitas to the role that the fat rapper in the TV show can't begin to approach or even comprehend.

They also like to push the agenda that black people are constantly judged simply by the color of their skin. They overlook the fact that by saying that, they are infact judging white people to automatically be racist based on their skin color. We need to get past this concept. People are judged by how they dress act and speak more than by their color.

It may well be a terrible version of the series, but it sadly is one of the better shows on tv at the moment. I actually enjoy it somewhat.

Exactly. Woodward and Denzel were good.

Same with the NCIS series. Really can’t stomach them anymore. Way to much theater and phony physical abilities.

Feel bad for the hood actors being forced to pair up with the woke ones.

I’m pretty much watching reruns of Sherlock Holmes with Basil and Nigel.

I converted from Uverse to Spectrum 6 months ago (I know...what took me so long). I now only watch reruns of years-ago shows - Mash, Baa Baa Black Sheep - and History Channel segments, particularly on WW II (we win every time) and Viet Nam (when we routinely and heroically avoided catastrophic defeats). Only exceptions are (1) the Oak Island series - many of its weekly shows are boring as hell, but I hang on hoping they actually discover something interesting. and (2) MLB's channel. To the extent the daily programming is shown for the first time, I might enjoy some of it. I avoid the rerun of such programming which, often as not, is shown only an hour or two later. But I change the channel whenever Brian Kenny's show is on. I don't understand why anyone wants to be on his show. He asks a true expert for his opinion about something, then interrupts and talks over that expert's response with Kinney's own opinion. If I'm an expert, I'll pass on invites to Kenny's show and tell Kenny why I passed. Might even do it on the air - just to be sure Kenny can't deny it.

Anyway, my day's tv watching is limited to the 5pm to 8 pm slot, and even then, only if there's programming that I find interesting.

Movies - no.

Current (first run) tv shows? Hell no.

Cable news - nope. Fox lost my loyalty a couple of years ago when Paul Ryan started influencing Fox's political point of view, and censoring all other conservative view points.

Too bad they don't play the national anthem and run a test pattern every night at midnight. I'd probably stay up for that.

I think this new TV series is flat out awful. My wife liked it, but I could not through a single episode without constantly thinking that this fat woman was wrong for the role, plus the writing was simplistic and dumb. I moderately liked the original TV series but that was a long time ago and I doubt that it would hold up well now. The original movie with Denzel Washington was good, but the sequels were clearly just out for the quick cash, just like the "Taken" movies with Liam Nelson.

It's too bad that Hollywood and other studios think they have to go PC and woke for some reason. Maybe it comes down from senior management but they need to look at the ratings. I will check out the Equalizer, but I sure got tired of watching "Law and Order:SVU" and FBI the last few years. So much "racism" on display that's causing these shows to always have a "secret white supremacist" terror group as the bad guys.

How many TV shows are honest enough to show the majority of criminals as young Black men? Not many it seems. I like Tom Selleck and have watched "Bluebloods" for years but despite the reality of Black crime in NYC, it seems rare that the show's criminals are Black actors. Sometimes when a Black young man is arrested, the story of the show is that he is really innocent and one of the family of cops works to clear him. Almost makes me give up on Selleck.

Much, much longer than ten years !
Hollyweird has for the most part been living off remakes of old U.S. movies and foreign movies for decades.
There are the occasional exceptions but I think original ideas are few and far between out there.
The "New" thing these days is injecting woke nonsense and casting less than talented actors based on color and/or sex to remake classic and not so classic movies and TV series.
The Disney ongoing and very expensive disaster of movie flops is a classic example of the whole woke remake nonsense.
