I dont find any published data for the 500 Linebaugh using IMR 800x but a friend has been using it in his 500 GNR. I started working up loads with a 410 grain wfn. Results were 10.0 grains went 725 FPS, 12.0 grains went 850 FPS and I am trying the 12.0 grain charge again but it goes 980 FPS. Anyone else use this powder in the 500 Linebaugh? I like it because the extreme spreads are very low.

How has that 800x worked out for you? I've been using 12.0 Unique and had decent luck, and I believe John Linebaugh usually recommends 16.0 of HS-6. Both of these ballpark around 900fps. I was wondering if that 12.0 of 800x showed promise and if the velocity proved out closer to 1000 fps?

The trouble with 800X is it goes through powder measures like case hardened rocks.
