Sometimes I wonder if the worst enemy of shooters aren't the Manufacturers themselves. $70-$75 for a 20 round box of your average large Magnum round ( 300 RUM for example ). Have you priced out any 500 S&W? $25-$34 for a pound of powder. $25 -$30 for your average bulk pack Remington and Winchester rifle bullets. It gets worse if you buy the Premium components ( Barnes, Nosler etc... ) I know, I know, reloading is still cheaper than buying factory made ammo. I don't know how how some on the lower end of the money chain can even begin to enter and enjoy this pastime. I am glad I have a fairly good supply , but still suffer sticker shock when I need a different powder to try or am trying out different bullets when I do get a new gun to load for. It now costs as much to load for a .223 caliber as it used to cost me to load for my .338 win mag ( mid 70's ). Oh wait, you already knew this. I feel better now.
