Has the wood factory grips got bigger than they use to be. On my new blued 44 they seem bigger than they were 10 years ago, when I had a stainless one,

I have looked for thinner grips for a mid 1980s Redhawk, but none seem available. They have also changed the grip locator, such that the new grip locator does not fit in older Redhawks. The new Houge grip goes with the new grip locator and will not fit the old. The new grip locator will not fit my gun.

All the grips I have tried are LARGER than the factory grip, NOT smaller.

One of these days Im going to get out some sandpaper and start whittling down those grips.

Ok, I do remember the grips being thinner back at the beginning of production but I do not remember pin placement changing. I have owned and traded several over the years.
