Redhawk works fine double action but when I try SA and pull the trigger slightly, the hammer drops halfway. Pulling the trigger the rest of the way drops the hammer. Ring any bells to anyone?

It would seem the DA sear is catching on the SA pawl rather than scooting by it. Couple of questions -

When the hammer stops halfway do you feel an impact on the trigger?

When the hammer stops halfway how heavy is the trigger pull to make it drop completely?

Pulling slightly and getting caught indicates the SA pawl n the trigger is getting snagged, whereas and aggressive, fast SA pull moves it up and away and avoids.

Again, just a guess but that the hammer stops, rather than camming the trigger forward, may mean the DA sear is just barely catching the SA pawl on the trigger. And if you get a "sort of OK" pull to complete the drop - again may mean it's just barely catching. All of which leads to less correction being required.

Thanks for the reply dsf. When the hammer hangs, it takes almost no pressure on the trigger to drop the hammer the rest of the way. Based on this diagram, could the trigger link (77) be sliding into the hole at the end of the hammer strut? (55)

I'm going to vote no on that happening because were it the case it should happen in DA mode also. Although DA is slightly shorter than SA.

You should be able to check on the hammer dog hanging it up by just slightly pressing the trigger and controlling the hammer drop with your thumb. And there's enough room for you to look down into the action from above and see if the top of the trigger (#72) is clipping the front lower leading edge of the hammer dog (#45). If you keep the trigger to the rear and cycle the hammer up & down with your thumb - doing your best to have the parts catch, you shouldn't be able to make them meet. If they do, I think that's the problem.

You could also check by simply removing the hammer dog and doing SA trigger. If the hammer dog is removed and the problem goes away that's a prettty good indication.

Removing the hammer only is pretty easy, you don't need to remove the trigger. Just capture the spring, remove the hammer retaining pin and wiggle it out.
