Is the RH too heavy to for the light recoiling 45 ACP? The SW 45 ACP tend to be lighter but have a hole and are not available.
I don't consider it so. The weight helps mitigate the recoil even more. Years ago I had an S & W Mountain Gun in 45ACP. I felt the weight of it more in the hands, behind the trigger...if that makes sense. My 4" Redhawk feels slightly more muzzle biased as to how it feels in my hand. This, for me, makes it easier to track the muzzle when swinging from one target to another. With the Mt Gun I had a little more difficulty on the transition to a second target.
So define light recoiling 45 acp....in a RH, yeah it would be a joy in a RH.....in a 1911 pistol? That's where I have a question. The 1911 gave me no recoil issues, at all. But as a instructor when it was still issued it gave many issues. Recoil was more in the mind when qualing on the 45 1911, but some couldn't get past it and couldn't pass the 15yd watchstander qual. Stayed late with remedials many a night during Desert Shield. Crazy I know. Took boxes and boxes to get them to qual so I could secure. M39 9mm Aircrew quals didn't fair much better than those with 1911 45acp "light recoiling"Is the RH too heavy to for the light recoiling 45 ACP
