Would anyone know the recoil spring rate in a commander? I loaded 400 rounds too light, and they do not function the slide correctly. I would like to change to a lighter spring rather than pull apart and reload 400 rounds.
Thanks
Mike

Check Wolf Springs web site. That info will be found there or by an e-mail to them. I put a standard 16# spring in my 5" SR that came from them.

You could also check Brownell's catalog or website. They list numerous types of lighter recoil springs for the 1911. I believe that Brownell's also lists a recoil spring pack of 3 springs so that you can custom tune your Ruger SR1911CMD.

Brownells or Wolff and get a spring pack of several of different weights. Maybe a call to Wolff and get a calibration pack for a Colt Commander.

What was the load you loaded? Because I would think a stock spring should handle just about any lite load.

The standard weight for a commander in 45 ACP is generally 18.5. I would try a 16, unless the loads are extremely light, then you may have to go even lighter.
