Recoil spring for Lt Wt Commander

Gents,
After much reading I’m not much closer to deciding what weight recoil spring to buy for a spare. Some say Ruger recommends #16 for Commanders but lists #18 on their website. Other research leads me to just buying a kit with a range of 16-22# and shooting the gun to see at what # the gun fails to lock back and then reduce by #2.
Any thoughts?

If the factory installed spring works now, I’d have another of the same for a back up.
Seems like a long shot ( pun intended ) that you’d ever need it but, your call.

Yes, I’m just looking for a back up/spare. No issues at all currently…. I'm just not sure what weight the SR 1911 Lt Wt Commanders come with from the factory.

Just a follow up for anyone that was interested. I called Ruger this morning. It is a #16lb spring.
