never asked them or had that done as we did it the way way you are asking quite often at our shop, just needed the 'steel' cylinder frame with the barrel attached, gate and the cylinder and pin, and yes the screws "if needed" the factory may want to have the entire gun and we always suggested take the grips off and not ship it in the original box......so give them a call and ask, find out from the horses mouth...........remember even though they are "parts", as far as the 'ATF' is concerned , the serial numbered frame is considered "the gun"...keep this in mind, if you lose it , as "parts", you'd be hard pressed to make any shipping claim..............:unsure::rolleyes:;)

Another thing to think about- if I send a firearm to a 'smith- my state wants it sent through a FFL and run another background check before I get it back. If I have Ruger provide me a shipping label, I have it picked up at my house and it is returned to me at my front door.
